I completely agree with your final statement. It seems like a lose-lose situation for Favre and the Packers and the only for both to come away from this is for Favre to just remain retired. Again, I didnt bash Jackie. The whole premise of this entry was to open up some dialouge about athletes and marriage. Unfortunately, this was written in the backdrop of the Rices’ divorce. When the Strahans divorced, all you heard on MSN, ESPN, and whereever else is cries of Golddigger. This was the same case in MJ’s split, with Shaq’s split. In this instance golddiggin is not the case.

My suggestion is to you is to reread this entry and tell me where I bashed Jackie! I know she’s not a damn golddigger because those kind of women don’t stick around for 20 years!

Yes, Jackie did get pregnant while at Southern Miss. We both were in the same dorm “Pulley Hall.” She lived on the 5th floor and I stayed on the 4th floor. I don’t know her history prior to Southern Miss; only when she was at Southern Miss.

I’ve know Jackie since kindergarden (her father, her aunts & my parents all went to college together - so I can say I’ve known her & her family a LONG time) and can say that Jacqueline Bernice Mitchell Rice is/was not a golddigger. In our senior year in high school, Jerry would pick Jackie up in a red 300 almost every day. She was a cheerleader @ Greenville High & was dating our football team’s quarterback - Derris Braison. She was an honor grad from GHS so she has the ability to be successful (academically or whatever she chooses). Her demeanor & attitude are the same whenever we see each other. She was/is not arrogant & the money hasn’t changed her. She’s still just as personable & kind then as she is now. OK - enough Jackie bashing!!!

JKDLove hey sorry for hitting a nerve it’s just something I heard and hey i can even provide blogs where 2 different people have even posted information saying it’s true but Hey I believe in BLACK WHITE print or Color TV. Some girls need attendtion to be affirmed og their womanhood but really need to grow up more. I guess they dont know about misrepresentation these days. I have never heard about Will Demps getting married. I dont even believe that he is serously linked to someone. The only thing I heard is that he will be a Houston Texan next season. Thats what he should foucs on.

Like I said in the article, if he wanted to settle down, he would have done so by now. It aint that hard for him to find someone to settle down with.

Will should focus on knocking people the hell out like a Safety should do. I am about damn sick of one dimensional pretty boys on the field. Granted, I like to look at them but I would like to know if they could play or not. It is possible to have looks and skill.

I never said that Jackie was a golddigger. The only thing I said is she would be unfairly typecast as such. There is nothing ‘golddigger’ about being together for 20 years.

BTW, Jackie didnt chase Jerry. It was the other way around. She wanted to be a doctor, until love came along and fucked everything up. Personally, I think it is a damn shame that it ended, because being together for 20+ years is an accomplishment these days.
