The Houston Texans clamed S Will Demps off of waivers today. Houston needed another safety after Jason Simmons’ season ending injury. Despite losing his starting job on the Giants to James Butler, there were about five teams interested in Demps.
Tony Agnone, Demps’ agent thought that the Texans is the best fit for his client because the team pursued him aggressively. Like a thirsty, eager groupie perhaps? Hopefully, Will can keep his job!

The Cleveland Browns traded mediocre-at-best QB Charlie Frye to the Seattle Seahawks for a sixth round draft choice today. Now, Derek Anderson is the starter while Brady Quinn is second on the depth chart. The Browns need to get off of the BS and go ahead and start Quinn! He cant be no worse that what they have! C’mon Romeo, start ‘Marsha’ Brady, you know you want to!

The Raiders and Number one pick, JaMarcus Russell agrees in principle to a six year deal! Thats great and all but this was some unecessary stuff right here. There are somethings that you have to earn and there is no way around it. Proving that you are a great signal caller is one of those things.

1.
Chargers
While I’m not really confident in General Manager A.J. Smith’s and CEO Dean Spanos’ decision to dump Marty Schottenheimer for Norv Turner, I believe that this team can easily win the AFC West and become a problem for the conference’s elite. While Turner’s hire only benefit QB Philip Rivers, San Diego is a team that can basically run itself. Despite having a talented offensive coordinator yet flawed head coach at the helm, this team will preservere.
Look for the bolts’ defense to be stronger than ever this year as Ron Rivera brings his championship winning Tampa 2 scheme to the West Coast.
2007 projected record 13-3
2.
Broncos
Offseason Tragedies aside, this is a strong and solid football team. I see Jay Cutler coming into his own as a starting QB. Skill players such as RB Chris Henry and WRs Javon Walker and Rod Smith are only three weapons that Cutler will rely on.
Denver’s defense was ranked 14th in the league last year. While their stats are not stunning, they managed to keep the Broncos conpetitive.
2007 projected record 10-6
3.
Chiefs
Granted, Larry Johnson received his big pay day and is currently in camp, it just doesn’t matter without a passing game to take the pressure off of the pro bowler.
The defense is pretty much shot. The linemen are going to have some hard times this year. Well at least, these guys play to win the game!
2007 projected record 9-7
4.
Raiders
Just wait ’til next year, Baby! The defense, while menancing and nasty, cannot win games alone.
2007 projected record 8-8

“I think that it is best that the team should release Culpepper and call it a day. I am certain that Jacksonville, Detroit, Houston, and Oakland would not mind having him”
-Jannelle in the “Address Unknown” Entry
” This just in! Finally, the Miami Dolphins does the right thing today by terminating Daunte Culpepper’s contract. Now, teams like the Jaguars, Texans, Lions and Raiders can get their offers ready”
-Jannelle in the “Free At Last” Entry
Today, what I have twice mentioned on here and once on USA Today came into existance. The Oakland Raiders signed Daunte Culpepper to a one year deal!
This move proves that Al Davis still has his front office savy and sense. Currently, the Raiders and number one draft pick JaMarcus Russell are still in contract negoiations, and a holdout may be immenent. Team officials were impressed with Daunte’s private workout in Florida, and pretty much offered the former Pro Bowler a deal based off of the session. This is definitely a great look for Oakland because Russell is similar to Culpepper in size and styles. The logical scenereo will be for Daunte to start, so JaMarcus can watch and learn. In the event of Russell’s holdout, signing Culpepper works because the Raiders will have a proven man under center, which automatically upgrades the offense.
For Oakland’s sake, I hope that Jerry Porter is a changed player because most of the passing game will definitely go through him. For added pressure, he decided to switch jersey numbers from number 84 to Tim Brown’s legendary number 81. No one is hoping and betting on this change more than Daunte. If the duo can get familiar with each other, this may produce winning results on the field. If this duo is successful, look for Daunte to be resigned.

According to penthouse pet/model Kimberly Williams, NFL Hall Of Famer Marcus Allen would not leave her alone. She told Steppin Out Magazine that based on a few phone calls, Allen ’seemed like a really nice guy’. That was until she found his myspace page filled with chicks showing grattitude for “lunch”. Williams also discovered that Allen is a regular at the Playboy Mansion. After those discoveries, Kimberly pulled away and Marcus blitzed her with 15 phone calls a day and text messages.
Williams said that Allen sent her a text where he said “Where the hell are you Kimberly?” and he also blew up at her for being nude on Howard Stern.
Isn’t that some crazy stuff? Marcus, she don’t want you! Go back to Hugh’s crib or back to your myspace and find another chick worth bothering. Don’t you have any pride? Don’t you feel ashamed for chasing recklessly? Is times that bad for you ?
I don’t blame Kimberly for giving her own rendition of the Heisman to Allen. I respect the fact that Kimberly wanted to pull away after seeing all of that. I respect her for trusting her instinct. As for Allen, I noticed in the articles where your lawyer said that it was the other way around. Whatever, you know if she was the pursuer, she wouldn’t have to be doing that for long since you were smitten with her from the start. You and your lawyer concocted that story to massage your bruised ego!
Chalk it up as a loss like I said and try again. If push comes to shove, try out as a contestant on Dancing With The Stars. It worked wonders for Jerry’s and Emmitt’s profile with women. But whatever you do, don’t act thirsty. It’s unattractive and pathetic!
