FIRE NORV TURNER II: The Quitting Begins

Today, I read an intersting article by Michael Silver on yahoo regarding the San Diego Chargers .(http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ms-morningrush111207&prov=yhoo&type=lgns) After reading this piece, it is safe to say that the Chargers, just like the 2003 Raiders and the Redskins of 1994-2000 quit on this guy!

Despite beating the Colts, the Chargers are not satisfied nor motivated and it is all because of Turner. The article said and I quote. ” The player’s dont respond to his leadership or motivational tactics, if you can call them that. They view his sideline demenor as frazzled and indecisive. And, perhaps worst of all, they are not embracing the strategic vision put forth on offense (by Turner, regarded as one of the NFL’s best play callers) or Defense (by Ted Cotrell)”

Wait, there’s more ! “We have the best running back in football, and yet we don’t sense a comittment to the running game.” One veteran said Sunday Night .  The veteran continued to say that the Chargers are running out of obligation and to establish balance with the passing game.

Indecisive? Frazzled? these two things a NFL coach should not be whatsoever! You can be calm and confident (Dungy), stoic (Nolan), manulpative (Bellichick), firery (ex Coach Cowher), a damn fool (Coughlin) or even cocky but braindead (Billick), but you cannot be indecisive and you cannot be frazzled because you will lose all crediblility with your players. I mean, act like you know something!

These two exerpts from the article says to me that Norv Turner is a fraud. He is not the same man that help spearhead Dallas’ Super Bowls in the 90’s. How in the hell can you have the best running back in the league and not commit to the run, especially when thats all you have!  Is he serious? Is he sick? At this point, I don’t believe that Turner deserve the credit for the Cowboys’ dynasty. Emmitt Smith, Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, and Head Coach Jimmy Johnson deserve the credit, not Turner.

Turner instead is the blame for running an AFC champion into the damn ditch and turning the Chargers from sugar to shit in less than a year! Many sports reporters credit Norv for developing Alex Smith. Well, look at him now! Alex Smith can’t throw a tantrum!

So, in closing,  AJ Smith should wake up and fire this clown as soon as the season is over, and hire wisely!

A MOVIE ON THIS GUY?!

Posted by jannelle on July 9, 2007

According to NFL Network’s Total Access, there will be a movie on San Diego Charger bust Ryan Leaf. I repeat, some one is actually wasting money and film on this guy.

For those who remember, Ryan Leaf went from the number 2 draft pick in 1998, to a hot mess in less than a season. He tried to get it together in Dallas but that didnt go too well. After the Cowboys, Leaf retired because no one else wanted to put up with his tantrums.

Right now, he is a coach at a small college in Texas, and it seems as if he is putting the past behind. Leaf does not need this embarassment from Parking Lot Films. Putting the travesty that was Leaf’s NFL career out there is like opening up a nasty pus filled wound. I can understand a movie on Walter Payton, Joe Montana, or Pat Tillman.  A movie on  Leaf is mindless.
